This is the first appearance for the women's team since 2010, when they captured the HAAC Championship title. The 'Cats repeated that feat this season with a HAAC Championship on Nov. 9 in Marshall, Mo., to earn the automatic bid to this year's national meet.
Lauren Jaqua earned her third straight conference championship back on Nov. 9, running in a time of 18:54.
Megan Rosa finished in third place, while Jillian Benson finished fourth, Ashley McBride finished in sixth place and Kerry Kurta placed in 10th.
Amanda Moody placed 21st, Shelby Stephens finished in 26h. Rachael Ash and Jenna Stanbrough rounded out the squad taking 28th and 34th place respectively.
Jaqua, Ashley McBride and Kerry Kurta represented Baker in the NAIA Nationals race last year. Jaqua took home 60th place, while McBride and Kurta finished in 135th and 216th place respectively. Jaqua hopes to finish in the Top 30 spots on Saturday, as each runner that finishes in the Top 30 will earn NAIA All-American honors.
The women's race is scheduled for 11:45 a.m., followed by a championships awards ceremony at Abe and Jakes Landing located on 8 East 6th Street in Lawrence, Kan.
