Women s XC Moves up to No. 24

Rachael Ash and the Wildcats moved up to No. 24 this week in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. The Baker University women's cross country team jumped up a spot in the NAIA Women's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Poll from No. 25 to No. 24, announced on Wednesday.

The Wildcats moved up a spot after tying for third out of 29 teams with Doane College at the NAIA Mid-States Classic in Winfield, Kan., last weekend.

Senior runner Lauren Jaqua led the way for the Wildcats placing fifth and broke her own 5K school record with a time of 17:57, she was also named HAAC Runner of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Megan Rosa and Kerry Kurta also placed in the top 30 for the squad. Rosa finished in 10th overall with a time of 18:13.87, while Kurta placed in 28th with a time of 18:45.44.

Ashley McBride finished in 32nd place with a time of 18:51.32, while Jillian Benson placed 54th with a time of 19:22.89. Rachael Ash finished in 83rd place with a time of 20:00.12, while Shelby Stephens placed 89th with a time of 20:04.34.

Amanda Moody placed 107th with a time of 20:25.34, while Jenna Stanbrough finished in 148th place with a time of 21:12.85 Aadrian Mcollum rounded out the squad finishing with a time of 23:43.27 placing in 212th.

The Wildcats are off this week, but will return to action on Saturday Nov. 9, as they travel to Marshall, Mo., for the HAAC Championships, which are hosted by Missouri Valley College.
