Baker Duo Earn HAAC Indoor Awards

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – A pair of Baker University track and field athletes earned this week's Heart of America Athletic Conference Indoor Athlete of the Week awards, as freshmen Jeremy Bryan and Khadijah Lane captured for the awards.

Lane broke the Baker school record in the 400-meter race with a time of 57.59, good for sixth-place at the Iowa State Open in Ames, Iowa.

That time was the sixth fastest in the NAIA this season, she also finished seventh in the 200-meter race out of 90 other runners in a time of 25.71.

Bryan also broke a school record at the Iowa State meet, as he broke the Baker one-mile record in a time of 4:18.24 and finished eighth out of 59 one-mile runners.

He was also the anchor on the school record-breaking Distance Medley Relay team this weekend, the Wildcats finished sixth in the race and finished in a time of 10:16.81.
