Four Wildcats Compete at KU Indoor Event

Josh Peck took second place in the weight throw over the weekend

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University indoor track & field team had four athletes compete in the Bill Easton Classic hosted by the University of Kansas inside the Anshutz Pavilion on Friday, Jan. 8.

The four Wildcats to compete include Josh Peck, Dayshawn Berndt, Tyson Robke and Tyler Randall.

Peck shined for Baker as he hit the A standard to qualify for the 2016 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in the weight throw, with his throw of 16.75.

He finished in second place out of 16 total competitors. Finishing ahead of several athletes from NCAA Division I schools including University of Kansas, Texas Southern and UMKC. First Place winner Alex Lybarger of Tulsa finished in first place with a throw of 17.41m.

Berndt competed in the men’s 200 and 400-meter races. He took 10th place in the 200 and eight place in the men’s 400m.

Randall took 6th place in the men’s 600-yard race while Tyson Robke finished in 16th in the men’s 60-meter high hurdles and 20th in the 400-meter race.
