For his effort both on the track and in the classroom, Caldwell was named one of 15 athletes from around the country to the 2013 Capital One Academic Second Team, which are comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.

A senior Exercise Science major with a 3.74 G.P.A., Caldwell earned fourth-place in the men's marathon race at the 2013 NAIA Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet back on May 25, earning All-America honors. He finished the 26.2-mile race in a time of 2:30.18.
The three other Wildcats who have earned Capital One Academic All-America honors are Katie Thurbon (cross country/track and field), Josh Rydberg (men's soccer) and Jordan Dolbin (women's soccer).

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 19,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
