Wildcats Take 10th at Nationals

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Baker University men's cross country team impressively took home 10th-place out of 31 teams and Wildcat women's runner Lauren Jaqua finished a team best 60th on Saturday at the NAIA Men's and Women's Cross Country National Championship meet at the Fort Vancouver National Historic site.

The Wildcats came into the national meet ranked No. 27 in the country and ran terrific as a team, taking home 10th with a strong race by Jeremy Bryan who took 46th in a time of 25:34 leading all Wildcats.

The freshman won the Heart of America Athletic Conference Individual Championship and finished just 16 spots out of All-American status on Saturday. The Top 30 finishers earned All-America honors.

Aaron Caldwell took home 61st on Saturday in a time of 25:46 and Eric Larson finished 99th with a time of 26:08.

The men's 8K race had 309 total runners and Justin Bryan finished just behind Larson in 102nd-place in a time of 26:11.

Taylor Nall helped Baker to that 10th-place finish with a time of 26:22 and 120th-place individual finish.

Cooper Clark and Vincent Tadokoro rounded out the final seven spots for Baker with a 281st-place finish for Clark and a 293rd-place finish by Tadokoro.

Jaqua finished 60th in a time of 19:04 and Ashley McBride and Kerry Kurta placed 135th and 216th respectively. McBride finished the 5K race in a time of 19:45 and Kurta finished with a time of 20:24.
