14 Wildcats to Compete in Gulf Shores at Nationals

Jesse Mathews will compete in two events for Baker at nationals, the men's 4x400m relay and 400m hurdles

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – 14 members of the Baker University men’s and women’s outdoor track & field team will compete this May 26-28 at the 65th annual Men’s and 36th annual Women’s NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Ala.

Baker will travel to Gulf Shores with five athletes from the women’s squad and nine from the men’s.

The five Wildcats from the women’s team include Gloria Mares (200m), Alex Garbarino-Herman (400m hurdles), Brenda McCollum (5,000m Race Walk), Kailani Killebrew (Long Jump) and Ashley Riniker (Javelin).

The nine men’s athletes include Tyler Randall (4x400m relay), Birdsong Warren (4x400m relay), Jesse Mathews (4x400m relay & 400m hurdles), DayShawn Berndt (4x400m relay & 200m), David Gregory (4x400m relay), Joe Linder (Marathon), Josh Peck (discus), Cory Peoples (Hammer Throw) and Greg Henning (Long Jump).
