Rosie Hollis, Jamie Steury Advance to Cross Country Nationals

Rosie Hollis advanced to the 2015 NAIA Women's Cross Country National meet

OSKALOOSA, Iowa – The Baker University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the 2015 Heart of America Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, with the women’s team taking seventh out of 14 teams, while the men’s squad took third, finishing just six points behind Mount Mercy for a trip to the national championship meet.

Jamie Steury finished in fifth place overall in a time of 26:45 and advanced to the 2015 NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Championship on Saturday, Nov. 21 in Charlotte, North Carolina as an individual.

On the women’s side, Rosie Hollis also advanced to the NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championships with her 9th place finish time of 19:35.

Four Wildcats finished in the fop 40 spots including Madison Dispensa (34th), Brenda MCollum (35th) and Jenna Black (39th).

All seven Wildcats finished in the Top 40 in the men’s race, as Corey Matteson took 13th, Gunnar Mays took 24th, Andrew Emanuels finished 30th, Stephen Deveau finished 35th, Andrew Dare took home 37th and Joe Linder was 39th.
