Baker Sweeps HAAC Runner of the Week Awards Again

Rachel Ash picked up her first HAAC Cross Country Runner of the Week honor on Monday

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. For the second time this season the Baker University cross country team swept the HAAC runner of the week awards, as Eddie Esquivel captured his second HAAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor and Rachel Ash captured her first-ever HAAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Esquivel grabbed a top-10 finish at the prestigious Southern Stampede hosted by Missouri Southern. The freshman from Las Vegas, Nev., posted a time of 26:35 over the 8K course to finish 10th out of 171 runners and help Baker to a second-place finish.

Ash was the top finisher for Baker at the Southern Stampede hosted by Missouri Southern. The sophomore from Kansas City, Mo., posted a time of 19:26 over the 5K course to finish 24th out of 198 competitors.

Baker will next compete on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., hosted by the University of Arkansas.
