The women’s team competed Friday at the UCM Mule Relays, while the men took their turn competing at UCM on Saturday.
A portion of the distance squad and race walkers headed up to Jacksonville, Ill. to run in Jim Green Invite hosted by Illinois College on Saturday.
At UCM, Tyler Randall competed well in the men’s 800m race placing 3rd and Josh Bostick placed 6th in that same event.
Josh Peck improved in the weight throw with a toss of 17.46m placing 4th.
The women’s squad was led by Kiana Turner with her 7th place finish in the 60m dash. Shelby Stephens earned a personal record in the 5K with her second place finish and Rosie Hollis placed 7th in the 3K run.
At Illinois College both Brenda McCollum and Caitlin Apollo started the day off with a solid performance in the 3,000m race walk.
McCollum hit an A standard time of 15:44 qualifying for the NAIA indoor track & field national championships and currently ranks 5th in the nation. While Apollo just missed the A standard by 5 seconds, but her time of 16:35 ranks her 10th in the nation.
The men’s distance crew was again led by Andrew Dare in the 5K placing 4th with a time of 15:58 and Jamie Steury was 5th in the mile run.
