Baker Takes on JCCC Indoor Meet

David Gregory won the men's 400 meter dash on Friday

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. The Baker University men's and women's indoor track and field team competed at the JCCC Cavalier Indoor meet on Friday evening.

Some highlights from the event include a first place finish from Sarah Hollis in the women's one-mile race with her time of 5:37 and first place finish out of 13 runners.

Also in first place was Tyler Sloan in the women's 60 meter hurdles in a time of 9.01 in the final heat. Kendal Holloman took home first place for Baker in the women's pole vault with a vault of 3.20m.

And Kayla Hannam captured first in the women's long jump and triple jump. On the men's side, David Gregory finished in first place in the 400 meter dash in a time of 52.18. Jamie Steury finished in first place in the men's one mile run in a time of 4:38, as he ran past 16 other racers.

Ben Carpenter captured first place in the men's pole vault and Birdsong Warren took home first place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.88-meters and teammate Avery Parker finished in second just behind Warren with a jump of 13.74-meters.

The 'Cats also finished 1-2 in the men's weight throw, as Josh Peck took home first place with a throw of 15.59-meters and Jesse Austin finished in second with a throw of 14.50-meters.
